Vicksburg

This program studies the importance of the battle at Vicksburg during the Civil War. The city, located on the Mississippi River, was a key stronghold for the Confederate Army. In order to gain advantage over the South, the Union Army knew it had to obtain possession of Vicksburg. The Vicksburg program will help students learn why the battle at Vicksburg was such a key victory in the Civil War.
